If so, you are in for a real treat! May 6 through May 22, the Phoenix Theatre will be hosting the 18th Annual Hormel Festival of New Plays and Musicals. This is an opportunity for four new plays to enjoy a staged reading, during which the playwright will be able to experience his or her own show being brought to life for the very first time.

This year’s plays were selected from more than 150 scripts. The event will also include An Evening of Short Plays, A Composer/Lyricist, and the 24 Hour Theatre Project, which has become popular in recent years.
