Creating A Restoration In Only One Visit!

Cosmetic & Family Dentistry in Tucson, AZ

If you chip, crack, or break a tooth, then you may be nervous about contacting the dentist for multiple visits and procedures. However, to limit your time in the office and still address these common emergency scenarios, your Tucson, AZ, dentist is proud to offer same-day crowns with CAD/CAM technology!

Crafting a Same-Day Crown

To create and place a crown in a single visit, we use CAD/CAM technology and an onsite milling machine. We start by removing structure from the tooth itself. Next, we take a series of digital images of the tooth with a small camera at the end of a thin wand. We combine the images to create a detailed 3D model of the tooth, and then design the restoration. The information is uploaded into the milling machine, which crafts the crown from ceramic. We use ceramic due to the material’s strength and durability, and also its ability to blend with the smile seamlessly, reflecting the translucent nature of tooth enamel. Finally, we place the crown with a powerful bonding agent!

When Do You Need One?

We may use them to address advanced cases of tooth decay, or as the final step in a root canal treatment or an infected tooth. We can lengthen worn down teeth and repair cracks and chips. The restoration also helps instantly change the shape and color of a tooth, addressing misshapen or malformed teeth. For people with missing teeth, we may use them to anchor a dental bridge in place or to even restore a single tooth dental implant.

Emergency Treatments

If you encounter a dental emergency situation, such as sudden and severe pain, or a tooth that is cracked, chipped, or broken, then let us know. We may use a crown to address the damage in a single visit. After your injury, or if you experience discomfort, give us a call and then rinse your mouth with warm water and take a pain reliever. If you have a damaged tooth, then use a washcloth or gauze to control bleeding, and a cold compress or ice pack against the side of the face to reduce swelling. When you come to our office, we will schedule it so you don’t share the waiting room with lots of people, and we will clean and disinfect surfaces in between each patient’s visit. If you have any questions about our emergency treatments or our health and safety protocols, then contact our team today.
